We are working with a leading NZ owned commercial property management company on this newly created role. Our client has sites throughout New Zealand. This position will be primarily based out the Head Office in Auckland CBD with some flexible/home based working.

The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Safety and Sustainability Manager, you will sit within the wider Risk and Compliance team. The role will involve engagement with stakeholders across the business; communication and relationship building skills are essential. Supporting the Safety and Sustainability Manager, you will organise, consolidate, co-ordinate and maintain safety, health and sustainability systems and initiatives across the business. You will play a key role in reducing the organisations environmental impact and ensure stakeholder wellbeing.

Suitable candidates will require 1-2 years proven experience within the sustainability or HSE space. You will have a strong understanding of environmental sustainability issues and a keen interest in the area.

The Safety and Sustainability Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the implementation of the climate change risk strategy
  • Assisting in the development of sustainability policies, programmes and initiatives
  • Act as secretary for the Sustainability Committee
  • Support with the ongoing implementation of HSW strategies and frameworks
  • Assist in the development of training materials
  • Coordinate external H&S audit programmes
  • Collaborate with Facilities Managers to support the delivery of ESG goals
  • Develop robust relationships across the business
  • Maintenance and management of the organisations EHS software system

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 1-2 years proven Sustainability or H&S experience
  • Strong understanding of environmental and sustainability issues
  • Sound communication and numerical skills
  • Highly proficient in working with data, identifying trends for reporting
  • Collaborative, outgoing and confident
  • Relevant qualification within either environmental or health and safety management
  • Right to Work within New Zealand
